I reached out to support prior just to voice my distain for the scummy fuel charge practice, but they completely did not understand my concern or chose not to and just told me that they audited accounts and some did not have the fuel surcharge active (ie, Sanders customers). I guess we are all stuck with this now and forever. I wish that our government actually did something and prevented this local monopoly from occurring in the first place.

We lost decent service and reasonable priced dumpsters for large trash removal projects. It is sad to see that Sanders sold out to Republic. If I knew I could pay for just every other week of an overflowing bin, I would pay for that instead.

Now my can has been sitting on the curb for 6 days in fear that they would show up and it would not be there for pickup and also have no room in the can for 2 weeks of accumulated trash. I have never seen a trash company not make up time after having off for any reason, and now we paid for a week of trash disposal (and that magical money machine of a fuel charge) and did not get service. However, I really assumed that they would pick up the next possible day they could. On top of that, the reason that triggered me to write this review in the first place, is that they did not pick up our trash during the week of the cold front in late 2022, which I totally understand, it was cold, and then followed by Christmas a couple days later. Just an overall scummy business practice.

The 'fuel recovery charge' is a lie used by Republic to take heat off them by yelling to the sky 'look how much gas costs now, we cannot afford the price to run our business' and to line the pockets of its investors. If their trucks are getting 0.64 miles per gallon (many of which would be highway miles in our area), that is not an 'us,' the customer issue, that is either a poor fleet management issue, accounting error, or collecting money under false claims. At their fuel charge rates and my extremely underestimating the number of cans picked up in one trip, they should be using 34.2 gallons of diesel in that one trip, or about 0.64 miles to the gallon.Īgain, that is with my very conservative numbers and the assumption they are getting gas at least a little cheaper, because they probably store and fuel up on-site.
